STOP GOOD MOVE!
We, the people of Brussels, demand the halt and thorough revision of the Good Move project as it is applied today, as well as the rejection of any new car tax aimed at “decongesting” Brussels during peak hours.
Good Move, as it stands, has multiplied constraints without offering sufficient and reliable alternatives for all. Routes become longer, some neighborhoods are saturated, commutes become more complicated, and the impact on independents, families, the elderly, people with reduced mobility, caregivers, artisans, traders and emergency services is too often minimized.
Adding an additional car tax would penalize those who have no choice, rather than solve the real problems. Decongesting cannot be reduced to charging more, we must first ensure a more efficient public transport offer, effective park-and-ride facilities, smart coordination of construction sites, better traffic flow, and realistic solutions for deliveries and work.
We therefore demand a pause, a transparent and quantified evaluation, real consultation with residents and economic actors, and a new approach to mobility that protects quality of life without turning Brussels into a toll city.
